This is an interesting bead. It looks opaque but when you hold it up to bright fluorescent light, a little light does transmit through the bead. It is a nice color that rests between the shades known as Persian Blue and Royal Blue. These beads were old store stock from Murano, Italy, and the Czech Republic, whose artisans handmade these beads in the 1800's up to the early 1900's.
